Welcome to SainTense! I’m Chrissy, the CEO and founder of this organization, geared towards comprehensively improving the lives of others.
I’m nearing the end of my medical school journey, which leads to further training as a resident physician.
SainTense was founded on a vision—one that predates my medical training—to positively impact lives globally by providing essential support for navigating life's challenges. Our comprehensive suite of services is designed to do just that.
Contributing to someone's success, particularly their pursuit of seemingly impossible goals, is a deeply rewarding endeavor. We measure our success by the growth and achievements of our clients.
My journey began on the beautiful island of Jamaica. At 16, I graduated high school, a confused yet spirited individual, feeling pessimistic but hopeful about my future.
My mother, who was a school principal at that time, left me with no choice. As a result, I began university as a Business Administration major, hoping to become a corporate lawyer. My father, who ran a successful general contracting business through government and private contracts, supported my legal aspirations, seeing them as a potential asset to his company. Little did I know that life had other plans for me.
My parents separated shortly after I started university and later divorced. I would be lying if I said it was unexpected. If anything, the day my mother decided to walk away from her marriage illustrated that she possessed a strong sense of self and character. My mother spent over 16 years trying to create a safe and happy home for me, often at the expense of her happiness. She was my secret superhero. Though my parents tried to hide their debilitating union, even as a child, I could still see through the cracks of their marriage. I am eternally grateful for my mother's decision to start a new chapter in her life, as it taught me that self-love is essential to love others wholeheartedly.
Phase 1: This phase began with the exploration of my purpose in life.
My first year of college was pivotal for this exploration phase, as I attempted to mask my disdain for my life by partying every day. I initially balanced my nighttime proclivities with my daytime educational expectations until, one day, I couldn’t convince myself to maintain this facade. I remember looking at the buildings of the other academic departments daily and pondering the purpose of this degree that I was coerced to obtain.
One day, as I recovered from my nighttime escapades, my classmates with whom I formed a strong bond called me. They relayed the Professor's announcement that if I was not at school and in class within the next five minutes, I would receive an automatic "F." As principled as I was, all I could think at the time was that this meaningless class, which was the easiest to be awarded an A in simply showing up, was the only one I would fail. As a young adult, I've never failed a class before. I didn't even know what failure felt like at that point and the reality of adulthood suddenly loomed over me. I was numb. How did I get here? It was at this moment, after months of partying and accepting my F, that I realized I needed to drop out of college. I felt obligated to myself to understand who I was and what I truly wanted to achieve in my life. However, I had to overcome the hurdle of telling my mother about this realization. It took months, but as my first year of college ended, I told my mother that I couldn't go back and needed to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. She accepted my plea, which began what I would later see as a traumatic six-year journey of self-discovery.
Phase 2: My discovery phase commenced with many sleepless nights, multiple failed businesses, and undesirable jobs. During those grievous moments, I never envisioned the person I am now.
Every choice, failure, and job opportunity helped me to become who I am today. I worked for Apple and Airbnb. Then, after discovering my passion for service and helping people, I transitioned into healthcare. This passion led me first to Yale New Haven Hospital and then to the Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific. At each of these organizations, I worked with amazing people who influenced my worldview. I hated yet loved this journey, and the process was formidable but necessary to become this version of myself.
My job experiences led to my next life phase: cultivating the mental resilience to turn failures into success. While failure is inevitable in life, it is vital to persevere and continuously learn from those mistakes.
Phase 3: Somewhere along the way, I met my now ex-husband. Though our journey ended, I firmly believe that you can always extract the best out of everything, whether something is good or bad.
Everything you experience and everyone you encounter in life is not just a memory. It's an exchange that can propel you to self-examination to reveal the better version of you that you would never have unearthed without that encounter. Your perspective matters. You can choose to be the light in the darkness or allow the darkness to consume you. The choice is, and always will be, yours.
Our experiences convey a meaning; it's up to us to identify, analyze, and explore them. One of my most beautiful memories was touring Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, France. At that time, I didn't know that my incredible journey to France would birth what we call SainTense today. Sain means healthy in French, and Tense means time.
Throughout my life, I struggled to achieve what I desired at the right time. I faced many setbacks, many challenges, and mental anguish during each process. It was through those experiences that motivated the foundation on which this company stands. To help others achieve their desires within a healthy timeline while cultivating healthy coping mechanisms to deal with everyday life.
During my first year of medical school, I began and subsequently completed my Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Completing my MBA was necessary as I wanted to understand business structures in every aspect of life, from the entrepreneurial perspective and the consumer. This degree allowed me to unpack how others felt in their consumer journey while learning about the meticulous tools that make the client-to-business relationship successful.
At the beginning of my third year in medical school, I started my Master's in Clinical Psychology to further lead into research for my PhD. I firmly believe that stable and balanced mental health is essential for functioning effectively in all aspects of life.
